KUALA LUMPUR (Thomson Financial) - Malaysia's second national car maker Perodua is aiming to sell 10,000 units of its compact car Viva worth a total of 370 million ringgit under a special promotion targeted at civil servants, the official Bernama news agency reported, citing managing director Syed Hafiz Syed Abu Bakar.

'We hope this promotion will enhance Viva sales and give a chance to government servants to buy new cars with easy loan as well as insurance,' Syed Hafiz said.

The promotion runs from July 24 to Oct 15 this year

Perodua signed a memorandum of understanding with Bank Rakyat, a cooperative bank serving mainly civil servants, and Takaful Ikhlas Sdn Bhd on Monday to offer car financing facilities and personal insurance protection coverage for civil servants.

Under the agreement, Bank Rakyat will provide up to 100 percent financing for 10 years.
A 100%  financing, more Viva's is to comin to town.  Wink

errmmm... 100 percent financing for 10 years is not gonna be good actually, because this will make more people take things for granted (e.g who cares what happen in this 10 years.) and could be a problem for their finance management. the winner is always on the Bank side $$ comes ma... you not affort from the 4th years is your problem, you must pay, tarik car from you also you must pay...

by the time you sell your car(e.g 40K interest rate 3.88) you already paid RM 55520, about 5K in 3 years time.

BTW, VIVA not running well??

what do you mean .. not running well? the sales or the car? Myvi is still an eye catcher , so Viva will take some time to replace Kancil.

umm.... i mean the VIVA sales of cause, the car OK to me, but still have some defect when apply break , sometime got "kluk kluk" sound, this "sometime happening" bugs me, coz when i report to SC, they test by themself or sit beside me i test it, is gone... so they says no problem ak... where got.. Angry geram... donno what to do.. is not their fault too..

MyVI for sure is well recognised, VIVA been told by many ppl is over price.. maybe this is the reason..

I think that Perodua purposely make the Perodua ViVA car expensive, so that in time to come, they'll cut the prices and  more people will come and buy that baby.

I think what the petrol pumps owner's trying to do is just like twin shot try.. they put up two issues (both for their own good only) and hope that one of them would be granted.
